NEIGHBOURHOOD BIKE MECHANIC (ONLINE)


The Neighbourhood Bike Mechanic program teaches residents to maintain, tune, and safety check, their own bike and others in their community.

Participants learn basic bike mechanic skills, and will be supporting their local community through different activities. All classes will be offered synchronous online via Zoom.

Attendance is mandatory. Participants will be loaned a toolbox, repair stand, and supplies. All equipment will be sanitized by staff prior to pick up and when returned.

This program offered by Access Alliance, is part of the workshop series ‘Scarborough Repair and Bike Cafe’. This resident-led project by Woburn and Scarborough Village residents, is a collaboration with Access Alliance, Woburn Local Planning Table, Repair Café Toronto, and Ecoborough.

This project is supported by Live Green Toronto and City of Toronto’s Neighbourhood Climate Action Grant, a pilot initiative to provide financial support to resident climate action projects in Neighbourhood Improvement Areas.
