“We need places to ride our bikes in ravines and the greenways, and we also need infrastructure on arterial roads and all the places that connect people to all the destinations,” said Marvin Macaraig, a health promoter at the Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services and bike hub coordinator of Scarborough Cycles.
Macaraig, based in Toronto, spoke to the Toronto Observer about the limited cycling paths in some parts of Scarborough, and provided some recommendations.
“What I’ve learned in this role as a health promoter at Access Alliance and coordinating our Scarborough Cycles program is if there is even one gap in a route, it greatly discourages people from cycling,” he said.
