“On Saturday June 18, Scarborough Cycles celebrated the launch of its new bike hub at AccessPoint on Danforth (3079 Danforth Ave. one block east of Victoria Park) with a free community event. Activities included bike decorating, face painting, henna hand art, and bike tune-ups provided by local cycling advocacy groups TO35Cycles and Ward 36 Cyclists. Residents could also obtain copies of the new Toronto Cyclists Handbook produced by Cycle Toronto, which has been translated into 13 languages.

Also present was the Toronto Police Service, 41 Division, who helped residents record and register their bikes. The event concluded with a group to Rosetta McClain Gardens where participants enjoyed the cultivated gardens and scenic views of Lake Ontario.

A ribbon cutting ceremony featured speakers from project partners and included Serena Nudel (Youth and LGBTQ+ Program Manager, AccessPoint on Danforth) and Damion Ketchum (Treasurer, Cycle Toronto).”
