How do we incubate cycling in a part of the city with very few people cycling, even fewer bike lanes, and only one bike shop? In 2016, Scarborough Cycles opened two community bike hubs at AccessPoint on Danforth and Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre. In 2018, a third hub was opened at Agincourt Community Services Association, and a fourth will be launching later this year in the Orton Park community.
Our Bike Hubs offer access to bicycles, tools, repair clinics, and provide civic engagement opportunities for residents.
Read our Project Snapshot, to learn how we have been addressing barriers and helping people start cycling over the last three years. We also printed 400 copies of this beautifully designed project overview. Pick up a copy at the TCAT Office or at any of the three Scarborough Cycles community bike hubs.
